General Information

Purple DS apps have two standard translations: German and English.

By editing the translation file, you can integrate any language of your choice. The language settings affect all buttons and notifications of the app. A second translation file contains all necessary texts for the web newsstand.

The selection of the displayed language happens on the device. The Purple DS app recognizes the general language settings of the device and accordingly displays all texts in that language, if that language is available. If the set language is not available, English will be used by default. This also applies if entries for a language have not been completely entered or maintained.

Note: For iOS devices, the user can create a list of preferred languages. So if a Purple DS app does not find the set device language as a language file, the app first checks the list of preferred languages. If a language from the language file is listed there, it will be shown as an alternative. Otherwise the app will use English as fallback option.
